Our Mission
Women & Work is determined to unite women across the Pittsburgh community and beyond through creating podcasts featuring inspiring women and leading community-based seminars and discussions. Women & Work believes that the most important step towards building a perpetually supportive community is through beginning conversations and sharing stories.
Through sharing the stories of women (from those who have created their own medical device companies to those who have built their acting career from ground up), we seek to inspire those around us to pursue their passions and work against stereotypes and biases.
By holding public seminars and discussions, we aspire to connect girls and women in our community, effectively creating a bond that allows each of us to not only introspectively delve into our hopes for our future but also share them with others. After all, what's the point of achieving our goals if, in the process of doing so, we don't help others reach theirs?
By opening discussions and sharing stories (and, in the future, partnering with other women-focused organizations), our eventual hope is that we may change the societal constructs that prevent girls from pursuing their goals, as well as bring light to and fight against the discrimination that women face in the workplace.
